Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This painting encapsulates a moment at the end of a dry Autumn when the coldness and rain of Winter is just around the corner. The view is situated along the steep and windy Torrens Hill Road out of Paracombe in the Adelaide foothills, South Australia (part of the Kaurna and Peramangk lands). I was initially drawn to the imposing gum tree, seemingly perched on a precarious edge, and casting a deep shadow over the surrounding foliage. However, beyond the foreground focal area was the brooding cast shadow forming a conspicuous contrast in the distant valley.
Painted with archival acrylic paints and finished with satin varnish for surface protection. Cotton canvas stretched over durable timber frame, unframed. Reverse includes heavy duty D-Rings mounted 10cm down from top as well as a wire fixture suitable for hanging either with a track system or single wall hook. Artwork signed front and back. Every effort has been made to colour match, however, please note artwork colours may vary between the original and image on the screen of your device.
