Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
‘Bloom’ is an interpretation of healing. In this painting I wanted to encapsulate a restorative pathway. The underlying forms are intentionally ambiguous, although the intention was to translate a sense of restriction from either a physical or psychological state. These contorted and seemingly insidious apparitions merge out of the canvas then twist, snake and distort like gnarled tree limbs towards the edges. My deliberately expressive interpretation, loose brushstrokes and dichotomy of colour emphasise tension. Bursting from within are the wings of butterflies, interwoven and extending across the composition. These are presented as an aura of hope, a transformative and healing presence in times of desperation.
Painted with archival acrylic paints and finished with gloss varnish for surface protection. Cotton canvas stretched over durable timber frame, unframed. Reverse includes heavy duty D-Rings mounted 10cm down from top as well as a wire fixture suitable for hanging either with a track system or single wall hook. Artwork signed front and back. Every effort has been made to colour match, however, please note artwork colours may vary between the original and image on the screen of your device.
