I love the interesting texture, patterns and colours on our native gum trees. This is a painting of a photo that I took on a trip to Dorrigo NSW.

I started painting in the late 1990s as my art training included fine arts. I dabbled a bit in oils but fell in love with watercolour. I loved the excitement and almost unpredictability of the medium! I was also inspired by what can be achieved with watercolours by such artists as Alvaro Castagnet and Robert Wade. However, raising a family and working full-time as a graphic designer left no time for painting. I always wanted to get back to painting and am now very happy to once again have my brush in hand!
