Artwork Description

The Secret Garden is part of Eamonn Vereker's new collection ..... Desert Landscape.
My new collection the Desert Landscape captures the stark contrasts of brilliant colour and form in nature’s harshest conditions.

Colour and Composition, these are the magic words when working with glass which becomes an integral part of working with design and form – the abstract use of colour and pattern.

The Desert Landscape to me is a form of visual poetry, I capture these infinite complexities that exist in our natural world. The attraction of nature lies in its variety of shape, expressions, colour, texture and patterning.

Think, hallow, green and orange glass sculpture. With a textured speckled white glaze on the exterior surface.

Artist Bio

Born in County Kilkenny, Ireland and now based in Adelaide, South Australia, Eamonn has always had a fine appreciation for good design and has loved working with his hands.

His desire to channel his creative energy led to him securing a highly sought-after apprenticeship in glass-making at the world famous, Waterford Crystal in Ireland. He qualified as a Master Cutter and Design in 1976, and later immigrated to Australia in 1987.

Eamonn takes great joy and pride in opening up people's eyes to the colours and wonders of nature through creating unique and beautiful pieces; each one a new expression of colour, light, warmth, beauty and fragility. Each piece of Eamonn Vereker glass is a unique, finely handcrafted piece of glass art.
