Artwork Description

These new paintings are super graphic, bold explorations into the shapes that are left behind. The buttery tangerine contrasts beautifully with the tasty dark raspberry strike. The warm depth of colour brings sunshine and personality to any wall, every time I walk past these in my studio I smile and I hope these could bring that feeling to your home.

With solid roots in the graphic shape and form, these works explore the negative spaces we leave behind. Like age old imprints, sun bleached outlines and bunt shadows the original object has long left the story and it is left to the echo or void remaining to find its own voice and continue the narrative.

Artist Bio

I want my art to bring a smile to your room.
A laugh. Some fun. I want it to become a talking point about you, not me or it. Your sense of humour, your willingness to let go and have some fun, to not be afraid to poke your tongue out and bring some bold colour into your life.

Ed is a visual artist from Melbourne with a love for bold graphic shapes, colour and a minimal sense of story telling. Cynical, poppy and fun his art makes a bold statement with the sprit of a large scale print and the individuality of a canvas. Ed grew up in the UK where he trained in graphic design and multimedia in the early 90s. After working as a professional graphic designer in London he made the move to Melbourne in the late 2000's. He continues to work as an award winning art director and brings much of his love for simple, graphic shapes, balance and storytelling to his artwork.

"My work is born from the union between structured, clean, minimal design and shouty, brash advertising. Where geometry and balance meet movement and energy. I use colour and composition to create captured reflections of the world and emotions that surround and bombard us."
