Artwork Description

They walked through the city, unaware of the light that guided them, surrounding them darkness and obscurity.

"I always wonder about what the world looks like to those observing us. I spent a lot of time imagining the bizarreness a random situation or angle can make from what would otherwise be a normal view. I let this influence my idea when I'm trying to photograph a scene."

This image is turquoise blues and greens with heavy darks to contrasts. A well-lit room and black frame would complement this image well.

Influence: this image is influenced by the famous photographer's Fan Ho and Ray Metzker, who were masters of light and composition

Artist Bio

Ed is a passionate photographer and digitial artist. His focus is on forms, shapes, movement colour and shadows to represent his observations of the "waiting room". His vision for his art represents silent, still moments. He seeks to capture the feeling of this "waiting room"—the liminal, in-between spaces of modern life where the world seems to hold its breath.

Ed is inspired by Jeffry Smart, Trent Parke, Jesse Marlow, and Saul Lieter among many others.

Commissions

Ed's studio is in Perth, Western Australia
