Artwork Description

A knot of yarn form a rosy, golden tree reminiscent of an Autumnal maple. The vertical, blue lines of an ovoid playground rocket is topped with a red cap and spire.

This is rose-tined nostalgia trip to the rocket parks of my youth, and my 1980s' childhood fascination for the futuristic. From Doctor Who and Beyond 2000 to Astro Boy and the Battle of the Planets, along with the memories of unsuccessful attempts to see Halley's Comet on cloudy nights, perched upon the highest hills of Oak Flats.

This artwork is framed in a clean, white box frame, and is ready to hang.

Artist Bio

I have always dabbled in the arts in one way or another;
this latest incarnation being a mental refuge from the turmoils of our times.

My work combines graphic imagery
with the addition of fibre or other embellishments.

I love colour and ornamentation;
aiming to present beauty and inspire optimism for a more positive world;
where man and nature can co-exist in a more mutually beneficial capacity.

My method pays homage to the masterful, yet humble, practical crafts of my family.

I am increasingly drawn to the tangible nature of the handmade,
whilst the world has been fighting an “invisible” enemy,
and the artworld is being drawn towards the virtual.
