I am an artist from Western Queensland, whose works are inspired by landscapes and interiors particularly still-life. I find great peace in painting this genre and feel there is a meditative quality to the process. My aim is to capture a moment of stillness in a sometimes-chaotic world and to encourage the viewer to pause, reflect and enjoy the timelessness of a particular moment. I am also inspired by the landscapes that surround me: the semi-arid desert, the Murray Darling River System and timeless rock formations. Through bold strokes, earthy hues, and fluid compositions, I seek to evoke the emotions of an immersive experience that is exciting yet also meditative in nature.
In my current series, I am inspired by the semi- arid landscapes of Western Queensland, as well as the head waters of the river system. Water, rocks, and earth, though seemingly separate elements, are interwoven in the cycles of life, constantly shifting and evolving. My abstract work reflects this fluidity and interconnectedness, creating a dialogue between the physical world and the emotional responses it elicits.
