My studio is located on the Southern Gold Coast a few minutes’ drive from the beach – a beautiful area where the ocean, mountains, trees and open spaces predominate. My surroundings and life experiences provide inspiration for my paintings. I’ve had the good fortune to study art with some of Australia's leading painters – Stephen Buntrock, Hobie Porter, Marcel Desbiens, Claire Bremner, Otto Schmidinger, Dan Scott, Lyn Diefenbach as well as U Tube’s generous instructors.
Regularly visiting art galleries in Australia and around the world has given me an appreciation of art history and its evolution, cultural and contemporary art trends. For the past few years I’ve exhibited my work monthly at the Royal Queensland Art Society, Gold Coast gallery at Broadbeach. My art is held in private collections and includes commissions.
People have eclectic and unique tastes in how to adorn their homes and work places with beautiful objects to express themselves and create ambiences that enhance daily life. So much to choose from. I would like my paintings to give the viewer a feeling of lightness or joy as my primary aim is to create art that is beautiful and uplifting. I hope that whoever buys my paintings will enjoy hanging them in their home or workplace.
I use quality acrylic and oil paints on cotton canvases, finishing each piece with coats of archival quality matte varnish to protect paintings and to allow them to be sponged if they get dusty. All my paintings are ready to hang with hanging fixings attached, unless otherwise specified.
