I wanted this to be a modern painting with a vintage feel. I have used an old photo as my reference material. The painting is full of texture, my first step was to place paper on the canvas so that I could get a wrinkled look. I have kept the application of paint to the figures minimal and made the decision to keep it simplistic and rather tonal.
This painting captures a moment in time where three friends look carefree and excited for the future.
The work has been painted around the edges and is a personal choice if you would like it framed.
