Elise R. Kennett BP M.P.H (Currently a Master of Human Resources Management student at RMIT)
I am a fun and friendly person who is committed to working hard. I am a strategic and critical thinker with strong research skills and empathy. I have extensive leadership as well as teamwork experience - I work well under pressure, have strong communication skills and am very easy to get along with. I am an extremely fast learner and a life-long high achiever. Art has always been a fun thing for me to do growing up, it came naturally.
I am a self-taught artistand have been oil painting for 13 years, almost on a daily basis for a number of those years. I have most recently been working on my portraiture skills as realism is difficult for me - I have been painting abstract and surreal since I was 2. I am significantly good at abstract sketches in charcoal however I find oil painting much more expressive and more enjoyable. I have a number of paintings for sale of which I would not usually sell as I enjoy my own artwork, however, as a full-time post-graduate student I really need the finances, and I have about 80 in storage anyway.
I graduated secondary college as Female School Captain and DUX of Art, with a Victorian Certificate of Education. Leadership experiences include World Young Leaders Day (19/11/10); School Council Member (Student Representative 2011); Uniform Committee Member; School Leaders of Victoria meeting at parliament (4/5/2011); Meeting with the Hon. Martin Dixon MP; World Vision's Leadership Conference (2011); Intermediate girls hockey coach (2010/11); Senior boys hockey: Goalkeeping coach (2011); Whitehorse community leadership meeting (2011) with a Gold level award for school participation & commitment (2011). Following graduating as school captain in 2011, I was accepted into the Early Achievers Program (EAP) into Australian Catholic University.
I completed VET Dance as an Australian Ballet School student at Melbourne Ballet Company/Gay Wightman School of Ballet; Completing all of my exams with Honors, levels beginners test to Advanced. I participated in Scouts Australia from the age of 4 to 13. I competed in national level swimming; State level cross-country skiing; and in my Masters of Public Health at Monash University, I participated in the Varsity field hockey team, where I received the Green and Gold medal/Australian merit team as a goalkeeper at the Australian University Games.
Most recently, as a Master of Public health student and as a Human Resource Management student β my most major leadership experiences include the 2019 (Defence Science and Technology Group/Organisation β Australian Government) SCINDICATE Conference and Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) Summit 2024 conference, CANBERRA 2024.
I have been working in motorsport (interdisciplinary) since early 2013 as an on-track paramedic, extrication team and critical incident scribe (VA Supercars, Motorsport Australia, Motorcycling Australia, FIA), a race communicator/race control (Motorcycling Australia, Australian Auto Sport Alliance, Motorsport Australia); Most recently, as of 2024, as race operations, human resources and on-track fire rescue (motorsport fire-fighter) for Phillip Island Auto Racing Club and Victorian Fire Rescue Service.
I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to change careers/develop further from professions in my life so far. These decisions - required additional education - from Paramedicine into population health research and strategy (public health), and into my found passion (in addition to art), Business in the professional area of Human Resources Management.
My hobbies include oil painting, walking, ballet, music, meeting up with friends, skiing, fashion, space (my father is a nuclear astrophysicist), talking to people and learning/being taught.
