Artwork Description

This painting captures a dreamlike, serene forest scene, where vibrant colors and intricate textures come together to create a sense of enchantment. In the foreground, layers of lush foliage in shades of green, purple, blue, and turquoise are arranged in whimsical, abstract forms, each uniquely patterned with dots, arrows, and scales that suggest leaves or blossoms. The forest is reflected in the still water below, doubling the visual impact and adding a calming, meditative quality.

Behind the colorful foliage stand tall, shadowy tree trunks, painted in muted grays and blues, reaching vertically to the top of the canvas. Their simplicity contrasts with the intricate patterns in the foreground, drawing attention to the vibrant life below. This combination of colors and textures, along with the reflective water, gives the painting a tranquil, almost mystical atmosphere, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a peaceful, hidden world.

This piece is one of a pair (each one mesure 40 x 50cm, together 50 x 80cm), designed to create a cohesive set that enhances the beauty and mystery of this imagined forest landscape.

Artist Bio

Thank you so much for visiting my profile! Your interest means the world to me.

I thrive on exploring various techniques and constantly challenge myself to step outside the box. My art gallery is a vibrant tapestry of diverse ideas brought to life on canvas.

A little about me:

My name is Eliza Godlewska, but I sign my works as Eliza Day. This artistic alias was inspired over a decade ago by the haunting beauty of "Where the Wild Roses Grow" by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave.

Art has been a central part of my life since childhood. My mother likes to joke that I was born with headphones in my ears and paintbrushes in my hands. Well, mums always know best, don’t they?

In 2018, I made the bold move from Poland to Australia. Leaving behind my comfortable life was daunting, but it turned out to be the best decision of my life. This journey transformed me, making me more open-minded and self-aware. I've always admired beautiful paintings and dreamed of creating my own art, but I delayed this passion due to fear and self-doubt. Now, I am a different person, unafraid to share my vision with the world.

I hope my art brings you joy and positive energy. That’s what motivates me every day.

Warm regards,
Eliza
