Artwork Description

Grief for me comes in many forms but one I am so grateful for is when I can effortlessly surrender to the true essence of mother natures crashing relentless waves and trusting she will guide me through.

Artist Bio

Artist: Eliza Szonert

Originally from Melbourne, Eliza now paints in her studio on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, a destination she arrived at via the far north of New Zealand.

Eliza's art is centred around the main themes of seascape and spirit, which, while perhaps quite disparate, are both expressions of untamed, untamable energy.

Eliza's paintings, acrylic on canvas and watercolour on paper, have a dynamic style. They are often dominated by marine hues but might incorporate dashes of other, more vibrant, colours which catch and tease the eye..

Though perhaps almost impressionist in style, Eliza's art is strongly influenced by the expressionist undertones of experience, emotion and spirituality.

Looking at Eliza's artwork brings about an overriding sense of calm, but a calmness only attainable to the observer who accepts the ocean's restlessness and its untamable spirit."
