Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

In the thirteenth century Welsh story "Geraint the Son of Erbinn " Enid is the wife of the hero and for reasons very romantic and convoluted spends a lot of time standing around in forests watching him doing exciting knightly things like jousting with anybody who looks sideways at him. Enid was also the name of my aunt, and the figure in this painting is based on a photograph my father took of her standing on a rock in the bush when they were both in their early teens. It doesn't much matter which Enid you prefer. It's just a pretty picture of a girl in a very decorative forest.
