Artwork Description

A part of my ongoing slice of life series, this painting was inspired by sunny summer days spent preparing meals for friends and family. I like my art to be open to the viewers interpretation of the scene, allowing them to imagine themselves into the painting and the story.

Hello & thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Elizabeth, and I'm a Melbourne based artist.

Having suffered from depression & anxiety my whole life, I turned to painting in my mid 20's as a way to quiet my mind and express my creativity. From there my love affair with the practice has only grown.
I life to utilise bright, bold colours to bring my paintings to life. I focus on things that bring me joy, whether they be flora & fauna, or capturing moments in time. I choose to primarily explore life's quiet & often overlooked pleasures - the beauty of a bloom, or a moment with a loved one.

I love to mix media and play with different styles.

I hope you enjoy my paintings, and that they bring you the same sense of stillness & warmth that they brought me in creating them.
