This is my artwork entitled, 'Revival.' I utilised the style of surrealism and symbolism to create this piece. It is based on the Coronavirus and its impact in Australia and aims to promote strength, transformation and resilience in these difficult years. It is produced with top quality acrylic paints and is professionally framed in gold.
The symbols in the painting each represent a characteristic of survival and hope: the skeleton with diamond eyes symbolises viewing the world after war through a new lens, the kangaroo represents us as Australians, the Anzac poppy represents hope for the future, the tree of life depicts renewal and new life, the butterfly symbolises transformation and metamorphosis. The other elements of the work speak for themselves. The rhinestones in the artwork sparkle and the fluorescent paint glows under dark light.
My intention through this work is to inspire and uplift fellow Australians in their battle against Covid 19. I endeavour to promote a positive change in Australians so they can metamorphosize from victims to conquerors via the Coronavirus pandemic.
