Artwork Description

I have a very small garden with lots of plants and trees. These little pinks faithfully bloom year in and year out. I love taking small somewhat insignificant flowers and zooming in on them to create works that burst with colour. I am also interested in the contrast between the flower in the foreground and the the slightly blurred leaves in the back ground.

My artwork's journey starts from initial shots, photos of the picture I want to paint. In this case a zoomed in version of the plant. I then use the photograph as a reference for the painting I create in Procreate, the artists app I use on my iPad Pro. Many digital artists utilise the features in the app to create their work. I don't, my finished artwork is created on one layer and then my signature added, painted in the acrylic style I previously used. Currently I can create works that fine art print onto canvas to 100 x 100 cm at full quality. I choose to paint digitally for several reasons, my health, convenience and simply because I love it. I hope you love the artworks I produce.

Artist Bio

Based in the outer Southeast of Melbourne Australia, Elizabeth Currie, Artist and Illustrator, has been exploring the world of art and its various media for 20+ years.

Experienced in Pastels and Acrylics, her great love is to capture God’s beauty, especially flowers and flora, stopping any chance she has to take reference photos.

Her media of choice is painting on her iPad Pro through the Procreate app for artists. While many digital artists choose to use the multiple settings and layers on offer, Elizabeth prefers to paint on one layer adding contrast and depth as if working on a canvas with acrylic paints.

From screen size to maximum 1m x 1m fine art printed canvases, each artwork is lovingly painted over many weeks.
