Artwork Description

My ‘Forever Flowers’ paintings have so far been created for my loved ones, as gifts. An alternative to fresh flowers, flowers that will stay alive forever; and now, I wish to share them with you.

These paintings are my greatest challenge, they require a sense of calm, patience and deep happiness within my soul. To paint objects of such beauty, one must be in a frame of mind that’s willing to explore a tranquil setting of nature, colour, contrast and fine details. These works often take me several weeks to complete, as my mood must be content and free from distractions, which is hard with a busy family life.

These beautifully textured abstract paintings, full of colour and detail, will bring life and a sense of love into any home or space.

Artist Bio

My name is Elizbeth Heddle. I’m an emerging professional artist living in Melbourne. Painting, drawing and an artistic flair has always been in my family. While pursuing my academic career and starting my own family, my love for the brush was not reignited until the covid pandemic. The time that restrictions brought allowed for my artistic passion and creative genes to come alive again.

My paintings are influenced by my feelings, each piece a reflection of my emotions. The works that I create incorporate the many characteristics of my personality and my perceptions of the environment around us. Perhaps from the indecisiveness thoughts and moods of a Gemini.

With each piece, I find elements of a focal point, depth, distance, movement and flow, and I adjust and shift the perspective as I work through the piece - a mixture that I feel creates excitement and encourages the eye to travel around the canvas. My painting is a solid form of imagination, mood and surroundings.

To my surprise and delight, in 2022 I exhibited in the Albert Park Art Show and my piece "Rainy Day" (which can be viewed on my Instagram page – e.chandler_art) sold the very first day. Since then, I have been commissioned to do several pieces however, I’ve found that this structure limits my ability to be as creative as possible. I now only paint from my soul, a creation of what I feel in the moment, and hopefully others can enjoy and become fully immersed in.

I sign my work ‘E.Chandler’, under my maiden name in honour of my mum (a former art teacher and professional artist) and brother (a New York Architect), both of whom have and continue to inspire me during my artistic journey.
