Artwork Description

The mountain range across the Endeavour River in Cooktown was a constant wellspring of inspiration for me. The energy of nature is crucial as it's visuals, breathing life into every brushstroke. My departure from Cooktown only deepened my love and fascination for the untouched wilderness across the river, a landscape shaped by nature's elements, where light plays and dances upon the terrain.

This canvas, created during the vibrant wet season, captures the raw, untamed beauty of this landscape. It is a testament to nature's ever-changing dynamics and my own journey. In painting, I freely juggle between the realms of reality and interpretation, allowing my emotions to guide the process. Each piece reflects a harmonious blend of the tangible and the imagined, a dance of light and colour that celebrates the wilderness its purest form.

I strive to infuse my work with my soul and spirit allowing my style and interests to evolve over time. Pushing boundaries, experimenting, and surprising myself are all integral parts of my creative process. I have a distinctive style that is uniquely me and I take joy in knowing that others can derive their own meaning and connections from my work. Ambiguity plays a significant role, inviting viewers to interpret my pieces in ways that might differ from my own intentions. Creating art is a necessary part of my life, a personal journey that fulfils and sustains me. I first create for an audience of one- myself. However sharing my work with others is also vital adding another layer of meaning to my creations. For me my art is truly complete when it resonates with the viewer, even more so when they choose to purchase it and bring it into their home, allowing it to become part of their everyday life.
