Artwork Description

Being outside with nature clears my mind providing a fresh perspective. Geographical accurate yet free and ambiguous. My painting aims to represent both the tangible and intangible elements of the scene taking you on an artistic journey where the paintbrush expresses so much more than words ever could.

Artist Bio

Art has been my passion since 13, participating in lessons with John Rigby and continuing lessons with George Gittoes and many others inspiring artist. I’m a multi medium artist based in Maryborough. Painting Drawing Sculpture Photography Ceramics life drawing is my weekly practice. Spending 20 years living in Cooktown I was awarded an Australian Day award for Culture in 2001. In 1999 made ceramic sculpture https://vimeo.com/13088952 pushing boundaries. My art is a reflection of where I am in life and what I am creating at any given moment. I strive to infuse my work with my soul and spirit allowing my style and interests to evolve over time. Pushing boundaries, experimenting, and surprising myself are all integral parts of my creative process. I have a distinctive style that is uniquely me and I take joy in knowing that others can derive their own meaning and connections from my work. Ambiguity plays a significant role, inviting viewers to interpret my pieces in ways that might differ from my own intentions. Creating art is a necessary part of my life, a personal journey that fulfils and sustains me. I first create for an audience of one- myself. However sharing my work with others is also vital adding another layer of meaning to my creations. For me my art is truly complete when it resonates with the viewer, even more so when they choose to purchase it and bring it into their home, allowing it to become part of their everyday life.
