This is a personal favourite of mine. For this special piece I drew inspiration from the idyllic landscapes of a small, but spirited, coastal town named Knysna in South Africa. The painting features a loose and abstract interpretation of the Knysna Heads- a pair of dramatic cliffs that separate the lagoon from the rest of the Indian Ocean. Knysna is a safe haven, a place I visit to breath and be, and reconnect with myself and family. Having spent a childhood worth of holidays in this little town, Knysna is very much a second home to me. So this is an ode to Knysna, my happy place.
I hope this painting of my paradise brings you the same peace and joy it has gifted me for so many years.
The original painting was acrylic on canvas 100x100cm. Other sizes/mediums available on request (prices vary).
