Elle Lyon is an artist based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Elle has harboured a love for visual art and all things botanical since early childhood, growing up in a humid, multicultural and vibrant environment, she was raised on architecturally landscaped acreage - often found outside immersed in her parent's nursey of native plants, palms and variety of tropical fruits. She enjoys painting landscapes and local Australian botanicals, and an array of subjects found in tropical and native flora and fauna.
Elle works across a range of media to explore subjects but predominantly uses acrylic paint, alcohol inks, and resin, she has recently dabbled in wood burning. She also creates digital art and has been commissioned for a range of graphic designs including tattoos, logos and book covers.
Her background is in planning and delivery of social and civil infrastructure, which requires immersion in indigenous consultation, and exposure to architectural, landscape and biophilic design, this influences her works in style and form at times. Some works draw on scenes or experiences from regional and remote work travel.
