Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
The Botanical Gardens in Bendigo is one of my favourite places to visit, wandering around under the canopy of beautiful oak and elm trees is particularly exhilarating. Recently the Rainbow Lorikeets were having fun darting across the tree trunks and popping in and out of the holes in the trunk. This made for an ideal painting. I spent many weeks capturing the fascinating patterns in the bark and creating the holes. I have chosen to paint this picture using watercolours on watercolour paper.
The background colours are soft and the pattern of the bark creates texture and the striking colours of the Lorikeet tone beautifully with the bright green leaves. This painting would be a great feature in any space.
