Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

I'm amazed at how the birds find food at just the right time of harvest. These apples grow in my son's garden and just before harvest the rainbow Lorikeets converge on the tree and have a "feeding frenzy"!
It's as if they have been scouting around and checking to see which trees with which fruit will be ready soon! At least when they're in the tree it makes snapping pictures of them so much easier as they are pre-occupied with their meal and not frightened by our presence in the garden. Painted in watercolour on cresent watercolour board, this picture captures the moment ripe fruit and eager birds converge. The Lorikeets blend into the apple tree so well as they share similar colours. Once framed and hanging on the wall this painting would be like looking through a window out into the garden, watching nature at its best!

A pair of rainbow lorikeets feature in this design piece as they nestle into the apple blossom branches laden with pink flowers. Their green body feathers blend with the grren leaves on the branches, and their dark royal blue head feathers blend in with the dark blue background. Their red beaks stand out from the flowers with their redish coloured stamens.A Blue wren and his "Jenny" wren feature in this colourful, blue and white tones painting. The blue wren and his jenny are in the foreground, standing in amongst the white daisies with yellow centres.
There are daisies fading into the background and a pale green weeping cherry tree is just to the left of the painting.A fallen pine tree provides the backdrop for this detailed artwork, featuring a roaming Echidna searching for his lunch of ants, amongst a carpet of branches, leaves and grasses. The picture is highly detailed in black and white. The Echidna is in the very forefront of the picture as he clambers across the ground in his search. There are hanging branches and pine needles still clinging to the branches.A yellow tailed Black Cockatoo is the centerpiece of this painting. He has stark black feathers edged in yellow, with a yellow feathered cheek. He is surrounded by yellow wattle blossoms and is munching on a banksia cone. There are some green wattle leaves weaving in and out through the wattle blossoms.
