Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
This delicate little bird is a frequent visitor to my son's backyard, he snapped some pictures for me of the bird sitting on his verandah. I have used my "artistic license" to create a different scene, where he is standing guard at the door of the bird house. It is springtime and all of the birds seem to have young families at the moment so I thought it very fitting that he would be protecting his family.
Alongside are the beautiful roses that are also very prolific this year! What I have aimed to create in this painting is an atmosphere where you can hear the birds singing and smell the roses, whilst relaxing in the garden on a warm spring day.
I have used watercolour for the main body of work, and added a few pen and ink strokes for added texture on the bird house and lattice, the support is watercolour paper on a sturdy illustration board.
