Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
I was sent some great pictures of this weathered remainder of a jetty with it's seaweed decorations by my neice! I loved the atmosphere of the damp sand and the ocean in the background. I wanted to add some "new life" to the scene and so I added the "Little Penguin". The story is one of freedom and shelter.
The "freedom" of life in the ocean and the "shelter" from the remnants of a by-gone era.
Watercolour on paper was the only choice for me as I wanted the softness of the seascape in the background and the texture of the old sun bleached jetty in the foreground.
For those of us fortunate enough to have visited the ocean I know this painting will evoke memories of the sand between our toes and the smell of "salty" air and seaweed.
This painting would enhance any space and bring back those special memories!
