Artwork Description

In my art, I like to capture the beauty of the natural world. Different mediums allow me to express different ideas. However, I found more sensation in watercolour. Watercolour pushes the boundaries of classical painting techniques and allows us to think beyond mundane objects- giving the artist freedom to float between shadow and light.
The eyes are always caught by light, but shadows have more to say. They convey feelings of strength and peace, and I wanted to show them in a shot by playing with shadow and light as a sense of peace and hope that comes from the gentle Rhino soul.

Statement
A self-taught artist, I embrace a passionate, intuitive approach to painting. Rather than subscribing to rigid techniques, I let the combination of colours and water guide my creative process.
