Elly enjoyed creating art and experimenting with different materials from a young age. This prompted her to pursue a degree in Contemporary Art, where she majored in photography and minored in painting and drawing.
Elly's many years teaching Visual Arts in a primary school setting has provided opportunities to explore a variety of art forms and applications, with her particular favourites being drawing, threads and textiles, and at times, ceramics.
She now revels in creating artworks in pencil, both graphite and coloured, to capture people's portraits and to represent native Australian wildlife. She looks forward to applying her recent studies, and newly honed sewing skills, to combine painting and embroidery in creating textile artworks.
