Artwork Description

Part of the series “The Reds Found New Life in the Midst of the Sea”.
In this uplifting diptych (two vertical panels, each 50 × 70 cm), a large multicoloured rainbow umbrella soars freely through a playful sky filled with soft dark clouds, while a bright red umbrella stands firmly on the surreal red-and-green landscape below. Bold geometric mountains, striped waves and vibrant colour blocks create a dreamlike world where joy, freedom and protection triumph over any storm.
The two panels flow together perfectly to form a 100 × 70 cm panoramic composition that radiates optimism and imagination – an ideal statement piece for contemporary homes and spaces that celebrate colour and positive energy

Artist Bio

Elmira Hooshangi is a multi-medium contemporary artist working with acrylic, oil painting, , oil pastel, soft pastel, colored pencils, watercolor, sculpture, and installation. Her practice explores the interplay of color, form, and texture, emphasizing the translation of emotion, memory, and societal observations into visual language. Elmira’s work is deeply rooted in expressionism and abstraction, reflecting both her inner experiences and the dynamics of the world around her.

Through painting, drawing, and installation, she investigates the energy of color and the expressive potential of oil painting, the rhythm of shapes, and the tactile qualities of materials, allowing viewers to connect with the emotions and narratives embedded in her work. She often draws inspiration from personal reflection, social events, and the subtle nuances of daily life, transforming them into compositions that are simultaneously expressive and contemplative.

Elmira believes that color and art are essential to human experience, and that without creative expression, the world would be silent. Constantly experimenting with materials, techniques, and spatial arrangements, she seeks to push the boundaries of her practice and engage audiences in an immersive dialogue between form, feeling, and perception.
