Artwork Description

In this piece, Eloise, drawing inspiration from polyphony, orchestrates a visual symphony with a harmonious blend of gray and olive hues. The cityscape of buildings unfolds like playful musical notes, creating a dynamic and free-spirited urban composition. Employing an abstract approach, the artist explores composition with a masterful touch, each stroke resembling a note in a complex score. The juxtaposition of gray and green creates a nuanced harmony, echoing the intricate chords found in polyphonic music and showcasing the artist’s profound exploration of composition.

Artist Bio

Eloise comes from a family of artists, with her father being an artist and her mother specialising in abstract art. Eloise grew up copying many masterpieces under the guidance of her parents. This has led to her painting style being diverse - influenced by abstract art and expressionism, she seeks to explore pure artistry and beauty through colour, composition and texture. Eloise paints a wide range of subjects, including still life, landscapes and figures. The main medium for her work is acrylic, but she is continually developing new techniques and experimenting with different mediums.
For Eloise, the task of painting is not only to replicate or recreate reality with skilled techniques, but also to be a record of her feelings, experiences and emotions in every moment of her life which she hopes to share with viewers.
