Remember cloud-watching as a child? Imagining shapes and figures in the sky? The scientific term for the psychological process behind this game is 'pareidolia'. My work explores this phenomenon and the edge where we make sense of the world. I hope my images help the viewer to rediscover wonder and curiosity at the unfamiliar and the mundane. In this piece, I explore a subdued palette and organic shapes, reminiscent of the Abstract Expressionist movement, with a nod to the quiet introspection of Rothko’s work. The painting’s composition, with its layered brushwork and restrained color scheme, aims to evoke a sense of calm and balance. Crafted with thoughtful technique, it presents a versatile aesthetic that could complement a variety of spaces, from a serene home office to a contemplative corner in a cozy living room.
