Born in RSA‚ 1975

​After studying and working in Architecture I became more interested in paintings and art. For a few years I attended fine art classes using oils but soon realised that I enjoy to paint nature in a more dramatic and bold way with a focus on clouds and sky. Growing up in South Africa means you are surrounded by nature and untouched landscapes so it is very easy to be inspired as an artist.

I explore the changing aspects of the landscape‚ including the effects and the edges of the scene based on my assumptions of what I see in the landscape at that point and time. My paintings establish a link between reality and the imagined; I do not strive to copy the landscape in a realistic way.
