Art. Why, if art is unimportant do we covet it, connect to it, love it? Art speaks in a visual language that bypasses cognition. It sinks down into the recesses of your subconcious and speaks directly to that place. Art is mythmaking, made by those who need it to survive. The collective conciousness of all people moves through the hands and into the world and reminds us we are so much more than jobs and houses and merely breathing and using up the worlds resources.
If my art looks like a pretty picture, think again. It has an aesthetic, but one thats born of a need to make the world right somehow. A world where we are reminded of our place within the world we live as a part of nature and not so much seperate from it.
My work is also about relationship with and within nature as a being in the world of form. It also spans investigations around ancient myth and cultural memory and how we can bring this into art making in fresh conexts.

Ember has exhibited since 2000, selling work and completing commissions. She is in private and public collections in Australia and internationally, having exhibited regularly in Melbourne, Sydney , Brisbane and Singapore. She has also exhibited in New York.

Ember has studied privately with tutors and the usual brainwash that is artschool.

" I truly believe in our current world that art is more important than ever. Art lives in the imaginal realm, where all is possible. In a world where hope is dwindling, art allows us to have hope. We need the dreamers more now than EVER before.
I encourage all art lovers to have a good look at what you are buying, you aren't just buying a piece of art, you are buying the cumulative experience of an artists years of dedication to their craft and the collective hopes and dreams of humanity. A world without art would be a very bleak place and not a world I would choose to live. "

* ALL ORIGINALS ARE ON PROFESSIONAL QUALITY CANVAS AND FRAMES* This means it is made by an actual framer who supplies to professional artists. Inferior canvases that are mass produced might look ok at first but the canvas quality is very cheap and often the frame will warp, theres a massive price difference in buying from a framer which contributes to a higher cost but Im not interested in compromising on quality.
* ALL PRINTS ARE ARCHIVAL QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED, signed and editioned*
*WORKS ON PAPER ARE ALL UNFRAMED PLEASE CHECK THE DESCRIPTION IF OTHERWISE STATED*
* SOME SMALL ORIGINALS ARE PAINTED ON EXTERNAL PLY AND WILL NEED FRAMING* External ply is a commonly used material by artists. Its not inferior in fact it is preferable for some techniques. If its a larger size then it will already have a support frame for hanging, if small then it will need to be framed ( shadow box frame ) unless otherwise stated.

The most recent works have seen a further exploration of this theme in terms of how as individuals we are made up of the same elements as nature, how do the elemental forces of nature inform us of what it is to be human? What is it to live? This way of working is also informed by sexuality and what animates us.
Barbara Marx Hubbard talks about " supra sex" and how our primary/primal impulses can be utilised, transformed and directed into quite profound global change. I explore this constantly in my work and concur with her teachings.

Support the artists of this world.
