Emily works from her coastal property in Brisbane, Queensland - where she bought in 2020 to be closer to the water. Her love for the ocean inspires her artwork.
Emily is not new to the artist world, and has been practising on and off for many years. Now that she is in an area of zen, she has proceeded to pursue her creativity full-time.
Drawing inspiration from the ocean, sand and the boats scattered across the harbour; she finds colours, texture and shapes that reflect the transition from land to water. She believes the entry into the waves is cleansing and pure, which is the basis of her abstract art. The barnacles and industrial materials of the dock with the backdrop of an ocean sunset fells her with the passion to paint.
