Artwork Description

A powerful ocean wave surges forward in a moment of dramatic release, captured at the peak of its crash. The acrylic painting emphasizes movement and force, with sweeping, sculptural strokes that give the water a three-dimensional, almost tangible presence. Thick applications of paint build the crest of the wave, where foaming whites collide with deep, layered blues and hints of turquoise.
Texture is central to the composition: palette knife marks and heavy impasto techniques create ridges and peaks that mimic the chaotic energy of churning water. Light catches on these raised surfaces, enhancing the sense of motion and depth, as if the wave is frozen for just an instant before breaking apart.
Subtle variations in tone—ranging from inky navy to luminous seafoam—add complexity and realism, while maintaining a bold, expressive style. Flecks and splashes of white paint suggest spray and mist, giving the piece a raw, immersive intensity.
The overall effect is both dynamic and meditative, capturing the relentless power of the ocean while inviting the viewer to lose themselves in its rhythmic, ever-changing energy.

Artist Bio

My work is a celebration of texture, colour, and emotional honesty. I am drawn to bold, bright palettes and richly layered surfaces that invite the viewer not only to see, but to feel. Texture plays a central role in my practice — I build, scrape, layer, and reveal, allowing each piece to hold traces of its own evolution.

After becoming a mother, my relationship with art transformed. In the beautiful, disorienting process of rediscovering myself within motherhood, painting became both an anchor and a reclamation. What began as a quiet return to creativity evolved into a reignited passion — a way of finding my voice again, reconnecting with joy, and expressing the complex emotions that come with nurturing new life while redefining your own.

For me, painting is not just a process; it is an outpouring. I pour my soul into every canvas, using colour and form as a language when words fall short. My art is an invitation to connect: to emotion, to colour, and to the beauty found in depth and intensity
