Artwork Description

Inspired by my grandmother's collection of antique tea cups and a strong desire to honour inherently feminine motifs, this painting is about the subtle and beautiful ways in which women support and nurture one another in friendship. The pink carnation represents gratitude.

Artist Bio

I am an artist living on Boon Wurrung country in the bayside suburb of Williamstown, Victoria. My art practice keeps me grounded and offers stillness and quiet in a fast-paced, noisy world.
I am inspired by the simple beauty of nature and everyday sentimental objects. I am particularly attracted to the austere charm of Australian native flowers, and the ephemera of ordinary life for the way it can spark meaningful memories or mark a moment in time. This sense of nostalgia drives me to preserve delicate moments that celebrate the natural world and life’s simple pleasures.
I aim to create art that brightens spaces and connects with viewers in a way that conjures a sense of comfort, nostalgia and delight.
I work primarily in acrylics on sustainably sourced cotton or linen canvas.
