I recently moved to Broken Hill and on a trip back from Menindee I was inspired by the landscape and how I could reflect that and how calming I find the desert landscape without painting it realistically. So instead I used texture paste and bubble wrap impression to create a physical representation of the landscape and colour to compliment the desert but blending and mellowing the tone to read that calm motif that finds itself in most of my work.
I have a background in sculpture and a passion for painting. Mediums such as impasto, texture and sand let me bring my paintings to life through adding this 3D element.
