Artwork Description

This picture was taken in Thailand during a snorkelling trip. Due to the 'Finding Nemo' craze, I must admit that I was a bit indifferent about the need to see these fish. Despite the guide's enthusiasm to show us the fish, it really didn't matter to me if we saw them or not. However, I am very happy that the guide did show them to us. They were so cute and appealing in real life that I just had to paint them.

Artist Bio

Hi there. My name is Emily.

I love nature! It is the basis of my education, the centre of my volunteer work and now the inspiration of my art.

Living in the Perth Hills, I am constantly provided with photo opportunities of the wildlife that visit us. For the last four years, I have been learning my craft, trying different media and styles. My favourites are coloured pencil, pastels and watercolour in a fairly detailed style.

Prompted by a friend I entered the Kelmscott and Gosnells Art Shows where my pieces have won 'Best in Show' and their individual classes. Encouraged by these achievements I hope this is a start of an exciting art career.
