Oil on wood
Signed on the back.
This is ‘sun-drenched’ and it may be my favourite painting to date. I was drawn to the warm glow of ‘magic hour’ and the contrasting deep shadows, as well as the balance of exposure and concealment in this piece.
There are a thousand metaphors I could attribute to it, but for me I think it speaks to anything related to balance. It reminds me of the quote ‘I will love the light for it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars’.
