Artwork Description

Nature Birds Four with Various Motifs by Emma Kelly is a painting that depicts abstract birds, flowers and geometric shapes. Pale greens with pale yellows and soft pinks create contrast. What makes this painting stand-out is that it is unusual - with a highly unique interpretation of what nature looks like as well as an interesting composition. Its size is small but impactful. Thick, black lines used in the painting also draw the onlooker in.

Emma is a new emerging artist in Australia pursuing art as more than a hobby since 2025. She has been selected as a finalist in numerous art competitions and exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Canberra. She is also the winner of the Feel Good Art Prize 2025 in Hawthorne Melbourne.

Artist Bio

In 2014 Emma was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and is primarily a self-taught artist who has practiced art as a form of therapy on and off. In 2025 Emma decided to pursue art more seriously and has had much success. In March 2025 Emma won the Feel Good Art Prize at the Quadrant Gallery Melbourne with the prize being $5000. The judges were Corbett Lyon, Dr Damian Smith and Tony Jackson. She also was placed third in the 2025 Ryde Inclusive Art Competition the prize including being membership to the NSW Gallery and her work being published on the Ryde Council Website. She has also been a finalist for Greenway art Prize, Henry Lawson Festival and MHFA Art Competition and the 2025 Northern Beaches Gallery Art Prize. She has participated in many group exhibitions including Ladder Art Space, Newcastle Art Space, Forty Five Downstairs, Bowral Art Gallery, Quadrant Gallery, Q Gallery, Neo Noel Art Exhibition and Incognito Art Show. She has sold numerous artworks at these exhibitions. Emma is also a new member of the esteemed art group 'Artisans of Ryde'.
