Emma completed her Bachelor of Visual Communication Design from Newcastle University in 2011. For the past decade, she has dedicated herself to Graphic Design and Marketing for various companies and clients. Among offering her design services to a range of clients and being a mum of two busy boys, she decided to pursue her passion for painting (a passion she has carried from a very young age). Emma creates her work from her home based on the scenic Central Coast of NSW.
Predominantly working with acrylics on canvas (and the unconventional use of coffee), Emma is influenced by the dynamic beauty of the Australian landscape and ethereal worlds beyond our own. Drawing inspiration from the rich earthy pigments of the land, Emma creates vivid abstract representations that evoke the warmth and complexity of natural formations. With a focus on movement, layers and burnt tones, her art reflects a deep connection to nature. Each piece is a journey through layered landscapes beneath and beyond. Emma’s unique approach emphasises the elemental forces at work, inviting the viewer to look beyond, gravitating them towards the untamed beauty of the abstract.
Emma’s work has been featured in the Clouds 3 Exhibition at Newcastle Art Space 2024, praised for its collection of emerging, established, and award-winning artists.
“Emma’s work is both grounding and transformative” – Helen. J
