Artwork Description

In this original artwork, I wanted to capture the tranquil calm, after a passing storm. The once agitated waves now lap gently against the shore, and above the clouds catch the last rays of the setting sun, breaking through the storm clouds and casting a golden glow on the water's surface.

Artist Bio

Hello, thank you for visiting, and a very warm welcome to my page. It's time to get to know me better!

There was never a time that I didn't want to be an artist. As soon as I was able to hold a brush I started creating, which to my poor mother meant plenty of mess! I would fill my bedroom walls and floors with various works in progress eager to feed the creative desire within me. There was never any doubt that my life was going to follow a creative path.

With a love of all things blue and aqua it wasn't surprising that I fell in love with painting the ocean. Working in acrylic paints I softly build up the layers until there is a feeling of subtle luminosity in the water and the clouds above. Painting seascapes is my way of expressing the beauty of the oceans moods, and the drama in the clouds above. I literally have an undeniable urge to capture it all on to canvas. My hope is that the viewer feels like they could step right into one of my paintings, and momentarily lose themselves if only for a second.

I'm inspired from my long walks on our stunning WA coastline, soaking up the sights and salty smells of each special place. Once home I head to "The Wash House Studio", a 1900's washroom at the back of our house, and it's here I begin to create, with a hope of producing an artwork which will resonate and connect with your heart.
