Around the Bend

Inspired by a car crash. After driving back from a surf beach when I was 17 I managed to roll the car around a bend, and after seeing the damage of the car it still shocks me to this day how I survived. In particularly how my friend who was next to me only had a minor injury. This piece holds a special place in my heart and represents pain, guilt, the unknown, but yet how miraculous and beautiful life can be.

Emma’s expressive use of colours are parallel to her views and perceptions of nature, in particular fauna. Though Emma uses a variety of styles and mediums to portray various scenes, her heart never strays too far from using the ocean as inspiration.
Whether she uses a graffiti, abstract, realist, surreal, messy, anthropomorphic, or contemporary style, Emma stays true to bright and bold.
