This is painting is part of a new series I am working on, drawing on the beautiful local beaches and surrounding areas that are so close to me...
I have always lived by the bay, it is such an integral part of my being. I love the smell of the salty sea air, the crunchy white sand beneath my toes, and the tranquil water lapping at the shore. I have been slowly moving around the bay, after growing up in Seaford, and now I live in bayside area, which is quite a different landscape. The dunes are bigger, there are lovely sandstone cliffs with many deep shades of rusty reds, oranges, and stark creams and white. Half moon bay is the inspiration for this painting, it is a gorgeous spot, where you can grab fish and chips on the beach, go for a dip in the sheltered bay, or walk down the beach and explore the cliffs...
