Artist Bio

Emma resides in a lovely bayside suburb of Melbourne, with her 2 children and her husband.Art has always been a huge part of her life, from drawing as a young girl, to studying a diploma of illustration and later on graphic design. Studying graphic design was a pivotal turning point in her career, and has heavily influenced her painting style today, which has a strong graphic quality, with crisp lines, smooth flat rounded shapes and patten featuring heavily in most of her work. Colour is also central to her practice, as much time is spent choosing minimal colour palettes with bright, vibrant and bold colour choices. Her subjects tend to centre around nature, and the beautiful flora and fauna that Australia has to offer. Bright bold birds, Australian native flowers, plants, whimsical abstract flowers, and geometric shapes regularly appear in her work.Art is her passion, part of who she is, and she could not imagine her life without it...

In most recent times she has been exploring digital media, which lends itself very well with her existing painting practice as both works of art have a very graphic like quality. Many artists are exploring digital art at the moment, with NFTs becoming popular and artists stepping away from purely just a traditional format. Art should always be a safe place to experiment, and delve deeper with ideas and visual expression, expand skills and see how far you can push yourself as an artist.
