Between Tides I

A layered mixed-media work inspired by the quiet, shifting world beneath the surface of the ocean.
Between Tides I grew from my experience as an ocean swimmer, those moments when entering the water changes the pace of everything. Beneath the surface, the noise falls away and I become aware of light, movement, colour and the rhythm of my own body.
Built through layers of mixed media and acrylic, the painting moves between land and water, familiarity and the unknown. Rather than depicting a particular place, I wanted to capture the feeling of being immersed: that fleeting space where everything becomes quieter and more instinctive.
Part of the Between Tides series, this work invites you to pause, look deeper and find your own sense of stillness within it.

Enora is a Sydney-based mixed media artist. Born on the coast of Brittany, France, she spent years as a professional ballet dancer before moving to Sydney twelve years ago. A conscious journey to unlearn perfectionism and let intuition lead.
Nature runs through everything Enora makes, filtered through feeling and curious observation.
An ocean swimmer and sailor, she's drawn again and again to water, its light, its movement, its pull, alongside plants, the quieter textures of the natural world.
Her work is abstract by instinct: less a record of what she sees than a translation of what she feels, built up in layers of colour, mark, and gesture until something true to the moment emerges.
Her approach stays open and unhurried, leaving room for imperfection and discovery within each piece, an invitation to pause and look deeper.
Having built a life in an unfamiliar country and language, Enora's work often returns to in-between spaces. What it means to belong to two coastlines, two histories, two versions of a body.
