Erica Wildey is based on the Central Coast, NSW.
A graduate of International School of Colour and Design (ISCD), she is now creating abstracted paintings that lend themselves as surface pattern designs.
Her artmaking practice has evolved since this study, yet her obsession with colour and pattern has continued and is the main motivator as she creates in her Central Coast art studio.
Living by the ocean is a significant influence upon the direction and style of Erica’s paintings. Her signature colour palette, often derived from her local surroundings, is an intuitive response to coastal living and of travelling abroad, and evokes notions of mapping, journey, underwater, aerial and celestial-scapes.
Erica’s artist practice is motivated by a desire to live creatively and cultivate joy through pattern and colour. Her artworks respond to and transform her lived experience into for the most part, abstracted images that are open to interpretation.
