Created using mixed media with reflective paints and pastels, giving the moth and surrounding elements subtle changes in luminosity depending on the light.

Nocturne explores the darker, quieter side of transformation. Drawing on the historical symbolism of moths and their relationship with darkness and light, it reflects night-time contemplation, transition and becoming. Where Luna leans toward emergence, Nocturne sits within the darkness that often precedes it.

Together, the five works move through surrender, shadow, interconnectedness and transformation — The Sun toward light, The Moon inward, The Stars outward toward connection, and Luna and Nocturne into the process of becoming.

One detail I don't have firmly recorded is the dimensions of The Stars. If you give me that size, I can turn these into a consistent set of polished website/product descriptions, with identical formatting for size, medium, frame and artwork statement.

Born in 1988 and raised on a peach and cattle farm in Nana Glen, New South Wales, I’ve always had a deep connection to the natural world. Growing up surrounded by rivers, wildlife, and the rural landscape fostered my love for water and the environment. My passion for biology led me to Griffith University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology and Marine Sciences. However, my interest in art has been with me for as long as I can remember, and it remains a constant in my life alongside my love for nature.

Now based in Brisbane with my partner and two young children, I divide my time between my art practice and teaching high school science, having completed an education degree at Southern Cross University. Travel has also played a major role in shaping my artistic perspective, with adventures across Europe, Asia, and the United States enriching my view of the world.

My artwork often explores the Australian lifestyle, capturing the beauty of wildlife, rivers, beaches, and the diverse terrain found throughout the country. Whether it’s through vibrant depictions of marine life or relaxed coastal scenes, I aim to celebrate the natural beauty and outdoor culture that Australia offers. When not painting or teaching, I enjoy hiking, swimming, discovering new places to fuel my creative spirit, and trying to give my children the best possible childhood surrounded by nature and curiosity.
