I am a Melbourne local and it's only recently that I have been able to make the time to explore my dreams of an art career.
I paint a lot of pet portraits and animals in general. I really love researching whatever subject I may be drawn to - I have a drive not only to create animal portraits but learn about my subjects as well. Both pastimes are equally as fascinating for me.
I have also found a passion for painting pieces on fabric that are then used to reupholster furniture; antique chairs and ottomans to date, which adds a whole new dimension to my process. I'm really enjoying seeing the transformation of these pieces and the pleasure others get from my work is a great driver!
Colour, animals and bringing happiness to the world are my main inspirations. Oil pastel, Gouache and Acrylic are my favourite mediums however I love creating in many different styles depending on who/what each piece is for. I look at the world with eyes peeled for opportunities to portray it through my eyes... Patterned backgrounds have also become a signature style of mine.
