Engaged

This was a copy of a photo I took a few years ago. A friend was getting married and he was showing me the engagement ring. His hands were filthy from plaster etc. It was an interesting contradiction between a dirty hand and a really nice shiny clean ring. Normally fabric/textile art work I have framed under glass, but I felt people might prefer to touch it. This is using a "floating frame", professionally framed.

Computer programmer for years, and love the creative process in coding software. However no one gets to see this creative process so have gone back to art. The last few years I have been looking for the best medium for me, and I think I have settled on 2 so far. I originally started with sketching and do like to sketch with graphite pencil. I've now also included Textile Art/Fabric Art. My inspiration is Bisa Butler, who creates life size pieces using American Black History. My calling is pop culture and comic book references. I've scoured a few 1960's Romance Comic Books as reference as well as using some of my own photographs of animals and things around me..
